Sad Truth About Diseases

Health is wealth.

Just very recently, my mom and I went to the hospital for a check-up. We went to Northern Mindanao Medical Center for the laboratory examinations. My mother is only 58-years-old but she started suffering from hypertension since she was 40.

When we got to the ER, we met a close friend’s cousin who is an Internal Medicine practitioner in the said hospital. We were all pretty concerned when she had her blood pressure checked ‘coz the result was an alarming 220/100! She was promptly adviced by the doctor to take Captopril (25mg). After 30 minutes she was again checked but the BP was still the same. They again asked her to take another medicine, Logimax and thankfully, her blood pressure went down to 160/90 (although still very high).

While I was waiting for my mom undergoing another laboratory test, called ECG, I had a chance to talk to a lady watching over a relative who is suffering from diabetes and kidney complications.

What bothered me so much is that I saw a whole lot of people who were very desperate to be free from illnesses yet they looked so helpless.

The sad truth is that a good number of people nowadays are still not aware about the prevailing cause of the common health problems that we usually encounter.

One big example is having a diabetes. Some would say its hereditary but they don’t realize that can acquire diabetes through unhealthy eating habits and obesity.

Though we can easily find out about the usual cause of this deadly disease, we still prefer burger and chocolate over fruits and vegetables. We prefer to drink alcoholic beverages than healthy natural fruit juices.

Anyway, my mom is still on her work-up stage but I’m happy that she is very receptive and follows her regimen. I know that she will be fine soon. Her doctor is very supportive and I’m giving her full dose of her daily food supplements.

One should always remember that occasional use of medication and regular intake of supplements will only help your body function well. The greatest bulk of the responsibility is on YOU. You have to ensure that you take good care of your health by eating the right kind of food and get to exercise every single day.

Don’t wait for your body to call your attention by giving you chronic illnesses. As we are all stewards of our own body, we have the responsibility to take care for our self, and for our family.

Boracay Experience

boracay beach gang

Summer of last year, we had an incredible training in Herbalife at the Regency Hotel, Boracay Islands, Philippines. It was exciting since the speaker is a legend in Herbalife, President’s Team Member Paco Perez. The training was fantastic and we learned so much about the founder, Mark Hughes. After the training, my belief in the mission and vision of the company was strengthened. I vowed not to quit the business and continue helping and reaching out to people through the Herbalife opportunity and the products.

Other than the training, the trip was incredible because of the place we are at. Boracay is one of the best islands I’ve seen.

It has a beautiful white beach and we had an incredible island hopping experience. At night time, there are several places where you could hang-out, party with your friends and just enjoy at the sea shore. During day time, the sunny day will perk up your mood and you could just play volleyball with your friends. You can also enjoy swimming and island hopping.

Your trip will not be complete if you don’t let those artists paint hena tattoo on your belly. There are several cute souvenirs around the area. I bought some for my family and friends back home and they did liked the stuff I gave them.Next time, I’ll make sure I bring my entire family on our next training in Boracay.

A Successful Woman

I have been an Independent Herbalife Distributor for 3 years now and the reason I am better as a business person right now is because of Herbalife’s best training system and of course the best mentors.

One of my mentor, Jocelyn and Billy sent a me a wonderful email about Susan Peterson, a number Independent Distributor of Herbalife, her sharing of how to be an successful Independent Distributor in Herbalife:

11 Commandments Of A Wildly Successful Distributor

Susan was the USA business woman of 2004, has been the number 1 distributor for 9 years running, with the largest bonus cheque of $1.6 Million paid to her and John at the Mark Hughes bonus awards at Boca Ratan. At the 2006 European extravaganza in Athens she shared with us what she believes are the 11 commandments of a wildly successful distributor…..

1) Use the products - the more products you use the more money you make

2) Wear the button. - always let people know that you are proud to be in the Herbalife business

3) Talk to people - the more people you talk to, the more money you make. There are many ways to talk to people, be it one on one, or through a newspaper advert, or on the internet or at a shake party or customer wellness day.

4) Create your definition of success - once you have defined your definition of success it is important for you to believe that you deserve to be successful. The most enduring success is to be found when you live your passion.

5) Take responsibility - each distributor’s business is their responsibility. Your success or failure is as a result of your own choices and not that of your upline or downline. Learn from your upline, your downline and other people but ensure that you take responsibility

for your business’s success and failures.

6) Change your thinking so that you can change your life; - don’t give-up on your dreams.

7) Don’t get stuck - if your business is stuck get it unstuck quickly. You can do that by taking little steps towards your goals. Get out, attend all the trainings, take notes and ensure you put into action what you learn. Draw up a list of things to do and check off the things you achieve daily. Acknowledge what you have got control over and change or improve that, to not spend energy on the things you do not have control over. Stay

focused and call for support when you need it.Dream your future but create your game plan (road map to success). It is alright to copy successful people.

8) When someone says you cannot, say watch me.

9) Focus on results - treat everyone with dignity and respect.

10) Keep your integrity and Herbalife’s integrity. Don’t focus on the problem, focus on the solution. Motivate and encourage your organisation through what you are doing. Recognise mistakes and move on. It is ok to have fun at work.

11) Give back to keep the cycle of success going. Share what you know. Believe each person can make a difference. Make people feel good and capable. Volunteer to do things in Herbalife and outside in your community. Be available. Susan believes that you must know what is important to you. For her it is family life, spiritual life and Herbalife - in that order.
