Now is the best time to really be careful in spending for things we need and things we don’t need. We are very much aware of the recession that’s happening all over the world and we should be very sensitive to lucrative spending.

Let’s first prioritize our basic needs like food. Hence, eating the right kind of foods should be on our top list. Avoid or if its really impossible thing for you, try to minimize eating junk foods, fatty foods and high in sugar kind of foods like chocolates, cakes and candies that will only satisfy our cravings today yet in the long run you get to suffer health problems.

As the saying goes “You are what you eat.”

Start eating the right kind of foods and you get to enjoy life as you grow older.

The best foods are high in fiber, low in cholesterol and sugar. Try to avoid processed foods and enjoy a fresh meal most of the time. Dining out can be very attractive but foods that’s home cook is still the best choice.

Being a mother of three (Audrick Rafael - 4, Audrey Rose - 2, Austin Reece - 2 months old) seemed really difficult for me to handle all the kids and do other things aside from household chores. I used to think that it would be impossible for me to be a full-time housewife at the same time earn extra income on the side. But with this great opportunity in Herbalife, I get to enjoy my time with my family and at the same earn a good amount of income on the side.

What I like most is the training system that gives me an opportunity to enhance my skills and develop myself as a person. Last year I went to Singapore and Malaysia to attend the Herbalife leadership training and refine my skills.

After nine months of staying at home and giving birth to a healthy baby boy, I can once again be on the road to meet new people and work from home. I can’t wait to share this great opportunity once again.

Being healthy means a lot of things. As I have discussed in my previous article, “What is Wellness”, it should be treated not solely on the food but also on other aspects like mental, emotional and spiritual health.

Now, what most people usually do is they consider eating fatty foods as bad. They tend to focus on eating the wrong foods in their struggle to maintain a thin body. I say “thin”, because being healthy doesn’t necessarily mean you are too thin.

Our body needs the right amount of healthy fats, nutrients and fiber to stay healthy. What is amazing is that, eating protein rich foods help a lot in maintaining healthy body. Taking away those excess weight should be done the natural way. Eating a low calorie diet will help a lot in your quest for maintaining a healthy weight.

Please find below the normal FAT - percentage for Men and Women:

Age Women Men

20- 30 16% -25% 8% - 18%

30 - 40 19% - 27% 11% - 20%

40-50 22% - 29% 22% - 28%

50 - 60 24% - 31% 15% - 24%

60+ 26% - 33% 17 % - 26 %

It is always important that you consult an expert on nutrition and avoid listening outright to what the commercials on T.V. is telling you. Doing research and reading articles about health will give more information on how to keep a healthy body.

As we are in the information age, several relevant information is always accessible through the internet. Be independent enough in your decision by equipping yourself first with the right knowledge you need about health in general. Today, you have a huge responsibility towards yourself and others by simply sharing what you know.

Let’s work together to arrest health problems especially diabetes, hypertension and heart ailment.

Eating breakfast is very important but sometimes taken for granted by many. But sad truth is that most of us doesn’t have the luxury of time to prepare meals before going to work.

The most important meal is still breakfast, simply because your body has been starved for almost 12 hours from the time you had your dinner the other day.

Can you imagine not feeding your body the right kind of nutrients it needed to support you in your day to day life? So basically what happens if you don’t eat your breakfast?

Contrary to what you think that skipping breakfast will help you lose weight, the effect is the other way around. If you skip eating your meal you’re cells will deteriorate and soon will cause to slower your metabolism. With this, it will be much difficult to lose weight.

According to American Dietetic Association, eating your breakfast helps in weight management. It also refuels the body to help provide energy, better concentration and problem-solving ability throughout the day.

Choosing the right kind of food for breakfast plays a very important role in creating a healthy life. A hearty breakfast of protein rich foods and low in fats and sugar will definitely help you through the day.

It doesn’t have to be very complicated though. If you are busy that you have no time to prepare, just blend the 3 tablespoon of Nutritional Protein Drink Mix (Formula 1) of Herbalife with 250 ml cold water, add 1/2 banana, non-fat milk and oats then you get your healthy breakfast. This formula will already give the right amount of nutrients your body needs for the day, at 250 calories.

It takes a lot of discipline to get up early, eat properly, give 10 minutes for stretching and go to work. But the effect will it do to your body will be well worth it.

Take good care of your health and you will get what you want in life.

“The condition of good physical and mental health, especially when maintained by proper diet, exercise and habits.” - American Heritage Dictionary

“It’s about feeling better and looking better.” - Mark Hughes, Founder, Herbalife

“Wellness is about waking up every morning and having enough time, energy and freedom to live the life you want.” - Author Unknown

I have gathered these definitions to ensure that at least one way or another, we can be one in our definition of what it means when we talk about wellness.

My definition of wellness is somewhat similar but I would like to elaborate further.

Mental Wellness

It means you are healthy intellectually. You feed you mind with positive thoughts and take away negative ones. It includes reading good books and listening to speakers. Its taking time to attend personal development seminars and skill enhancement training programs. Making yourself grow intellectually will open up doors of opportunities and unending blessings if you only give an open mind about a lot of things in life.

Emotional Wellness

There are several studies conducted already that people who have positive outlook in life lives longer than those who are pessimistic about their situation. Being emotionally healthy means taking control of how you react to any situations in your life. We have different life situations, problems, and challenges in the past that we do not have any control. Being healthy emotionally is taking things as they are and always looking into the positive side of things.

Spiritual Wellness

Your spirituality also helps in your over-all well being. Regardless of your spiritual beliefs, what’s important is that we acknowledge that there is somebody above us who has helped us and guided us in our day to day life. It has been observed that those who have strong spiritual faith can easily cope with life’s difficulties and are positive about life in general.

Physical Wellness

This is the most obvious classification of becoming healthy. It means eating the right amount of healthy nutritious foods and exercise daily. It is the basic thing required by our body to sustain life. Taking good care of your physical health is a one step forward to becoming healthy.

In summary, wellness is an over- all emotional, mental, spiritual and physical health. It is a disciplined act of every aspect of life. Balance is the key to attaining optimum health. Hence, being healthy is not about money or getting the latest stuff to look cool. It simply means taking away the complications in life and putting things in the right perspective.

Good luck to becoming healthy!

Water is very essential in our body. Some might have taken water for granted but without us realizing it, it’s the second essential element that our body requires to survive next to oxygen.

We need fresh water to aid our body in many ways:

1. It aids in the digestion and absorption of our food.

2. It helps regulate body temperature.

3. It helps our body organs function well.

4. It helps prevent illnesses (through water therapy), if you drink enough water everyday.

5. If you are a health enthusiast, water will help you improve good health.

So why not drink at least 8 glasses of water every single day and see for youself the tremendous effect it will do.

But take note though, it’s also important you know that colored drinks like juices should never be counted in your daily water requirement. If you get to drink cola’s or you have a medication, you need more water to wash away the toxins in your body.

Hence, count your fresh water intake everyday and avoid being dehydrated.

To have a better skin, first thing you need to do is know your skin type. there are three skins types namely, oily skin, dry skin and normal skin.

Usually, people who have an oily skin type are the ones affected by acne problem.

Here are simple tips to have a better and healthier skin:

1. Make it a habit to wash your face gently every morning and before going to bed. Never rub it since your face has the most sensitive and delicate skin part of your body. Anything that you use for your face that hurts or makes it reddish is harmful. Use only those that gives you a soothing effect.

2. Use a clean cloth or if you really want to be sure a cotton to dry your face. Never use your body towel to dry up your face. It might have germs in it and your skin get irritated.

3. If you put on make- up, make sure you use hypo- allergenic brands. Although, it still varies since there are hypo-allergenic products that still cause some irritation. If you get an irritated skin, stop using it right away.

4. Drink a minimum of 8 glasses to maximum of 3 liters of water everyday. Our body get rid of around 3 liters water everyday through urination and sweating so its necessary to replenish it the same amount to rehydrate. Water helps cleanse your system. Juices and colas are not included in the counting of 8 glasses. It is important that you only drink plain water.

5. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and avoid or minimize junk foods and chocolates. It always shows in your skin if you’re eating right for your skin always glows.

6. Have enough sleep daily. Make it a habit to get sleep at least 7 hours or better 8 hours sleep daily. At night time, your skin regenerates and heals while you are in deep sleep mode.

7. Maintain a positive outlook in life. It is important that you keep a positive mindset everyday so you get to maintain healthier and younger looking skin.

8. Smile. You only use only 14 muscles when you smile and 72 muscles if you frown. Do not stress yourself. In the end, its you who will lose control of yourself and get to grow old faster.

Good luck to a younger youthful looking skin!

I have received comments regarding my post on my family results and I believe I better share on how did I got rid of my acne problems.

Based on my personal experience, no matter how many times you would go back to your dermatologists, your acne problem will still persist if your body hasn’t have enough detoxification. It is important that you are cleansed inside and eat the right kind of foods everyday so you get your dreamed flawless skin.

Please remember that there is no quick fix here. It always goes through a natural process.

Here’s what happened to me.

I was taking Herbalife food supplements particularly NPD shake, Fiber and Herb, Vitamins and Minerals and NRG. These products helped me cleanse my system since it feeds my body on a cellular level. After the cleansing process, your body will eventually be able to absorb easily the nutrients from the foods that you eat. Finally, as it is a natural process, your body will heal in itself and regenerate healthier cells.

Then this incredible dermajetic products of Herbalife was introduced to me. I use Nourifusion Multivitamin Cleanser - Normal to oily as my daily facial wash. Then before going out, I put on Herbal Aloe Soothing Gel and skin booster.

Now I do enjoy a lot of compliments on how I look and my skin really is very clear.

Please remember that the products I’m using are not available over the counter in your favorite department store. You can get it through me because I’ll be your personal coach if you are willing enough to try it out. We are open in 65 counties so wherever you are it will not be a problem. As I’m an independent distributor, I can also teach you to be a product user and soon be an International Independent Herbalife Distributor and help millions of people out there.
